ITV has announced that two of its
comedy shows won't be returning for new episodes, with the news coming following their respective debuts just last year. It's been confirmed that the broadcaster doesn't have plans for new episodes of Deep Fake Neighbour Wars. Similarly, ITV has revealed that it's made the decision not to renew Significant Other, which recently aired on its main channel. Deep Fake Neighbour Wars, which debuted on streaming platform ITVX in January last year, used "very latest in AI technology " to transform impressionists into celebrities. It presented the fictionalised celebrities as "ordinary people," with them "embroiled in petty silly neighbour disputes." Among the high-profile individuals who were impersonated in the six-part series were
Rapper Nicki Minaj and Spider-Man
Actor Tom Holland . Reality TV star
Kim Kardashian ,
England footballer Harry Kane and
Singer Adele were too. Significant Other followed "lonely neighbours" Sam (played by Youssef Kerkour) and Anna ( Katherine Parkinson ) who embarked on a "hilarious, obstacle filled relationship" after having "lost all faith in love". The six-part series debuted on ITVX in June last year, before airing on ITV back in January. The news was first reported by TVZone and has since been confirmed to the Mirror by ITV this week. The broadcaster has announced that there aren't any plans for either show to return with new episodes following their debuts last year. When Amazon's Fallout series is coming to Prime Video and how to watch for free ITV has announced that it has no plans for new episodes of Deep Fake Neighbour Wars, which included impersonations of celebrities like Nicki Minaj and Tom Holland ( Image: ITV) A spokesperson for ITV shared recently: "There are no plans for new episodes of Deep Fake Neighbour Wars. The full series will remain on ITVX for everyone to enjoy and sits alongside the many other comedies on the streamer." The broadcaster also said: "Significant Other was a great addition to the comedy season on ITVX last year but sadly it won't be returning for a second series. We'd like to thank the cast and crew for bringing the show to our screens." Although the broadcaster has confirmed that Deep Fake Neighbour Wars and Significant Other won't return, ITV is preparing for other comedy shows in its schedule this year. It includes the return of Alan Carr 's sitcom Changing Ends. The broadcaster has also announced that Significant Other, which starred Youssef Kerkour (left) and Anna Katherine Parkinson (right), won't be returning for a second series ( Image: ITV) The semi-autobiographical show's second series is due to be released through ITVX in the summer. Additionally, the first series, which launched on the streaming platform last year, is set to be broadcast on ITV in the coming weeks. Whilst upcoming additions to the schedule include Piglets, which is set in a fictional
police training college. The six-part comedy about a group of new recruits and their mentors is from the team who were behind Channel 4 's Green Wing. Announcing the show last year, ITV's Head of Comedy, Nana Hughes said: "Piglets was a script that had me laughing from the first page through to the last page." Nana expressed excitement over the team working on the series too. Follow Mirror Celebs on TikTok , Snapchat ,
