All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it." She went on: "I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout and views… being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look. My character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name." She concluded the post by saying: "I didn’t sign up for this shit. I quit." She also added a peace sign emoji. Reacting to the news on social media, many X users touched on the current lawsuit against the
Singer and her production company, with some saying that her appearance has nothing to do with the backlash she receives. Meanwhile, some
Social Media users came out in support of the star. One person on X, formerly
Twitter , penned: "I hope she’s okay. Some of you are just vile. Don’t like her music? Cool but have some human decency." While another said: "Respectfully, when has Lizzo not received backlash? Backlash on her weight, backlash on eating healthy, backlash on body positivity, backlash on music , backlash for her clothing brand for plus-size people. Backlash backlash backlash. It’s exhausting even as a consumer." Last August, Lizzo and her production company were sued by three ex-dancers. The dancers accused the Good As Hell singer of sexual harassment and "creating a hostile work environment". Follow the Mirror US News page on
