Chelsea chairman is set to be removed from his position at the earliest opportunity. The club's owners other owners appear to be and want to take the club in a new direction. Boehly became the face of Chelsea's ownership group after they bought the club from Roman Abramovich in May 2022. Despite owning a smaller stake in the club than private equity firm Clearlake Capital, he has been more involved in the day-to-day running of the club. However, it seems that his could be coming to an end. Chelsea has an agreement that allows them to change their chairman every five years. And the reports that they plan to use this clause to remove Boehly at the end of the 2026-27 season. While rumors of conflict between Boehly and fellow board members Behdad Eghbali and Jose Feliciano, Clearlake is looking to change direction. No decision has been made yet on who will take over from Boehly's role, but the position could either be filled internally or an external candidate could be hired. Two years into Boehly's tenure, which included a £2.5bn investment by the co-owners, things are not going as planned for the Blues. Liverpool in last month's Carabao Cup final. It has also been a rough couple of weeks for Chelsea, with fans showing their dissatisfaction. After their FA Cup victory against Leicester, they booed Raheem Sterling and Mauricio Pochettino. The Chelsea Supporters' Trust released a letter criticizing Boehly and Eghbali and warned of "irreversible toxicity" if changes aren't made at Stamford Bridge. The CST said the club had reached its lowest point since the early 80s, even going so far as to say the Blues had become a "laughing stock". The Chelsea Fan Advisory Board, which was created by Boehly, disagreed with that idea. They said: "We don't recognize the suggestion that fans are not being involved in the future of the club. This goes directly against our experience."
