Six former
Manchester United players have been included on a 15-man shortlist to make the Premier League's Hall of Fame. Established in 2021, the Hall of Fame is home to some of the Premier League's most iconic names, featuring both players and managers. Sir Alex Ferguson was inducted into the illustrious club last year, as was former
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger. It was announced on Monday morning that former Arsenal and
Chelsea defender Ashley Cole had been added, making him the first addition of 2024. Cole won three
Premier League titles and is widely considered one of the division's best-ever left-backs. Among those hoping to be included are six ex-United stars. Those in the conversation for a spot are Edwin van der Sar, Gary Neville , Nemanja Vidic, Michael Carrick, Michael Owen and Andy Cole. The aforementioned players won 28 Premier League titles between them during their United careers. Neville won the most of those 28 crowns, winning English football's top prize on eight separate occasions. Vidic, Carrick and Cole won it five times. They have been joined on the shortlist by a series of other worthy inductees, including Sol Campbell, John Terry and Cesc Fabregas. Former
Manchester City duo Yaya Toure and David Silva have also made the cut. In addition to Ferguson, seven former United players are already in the Hall of Fame, including Eric Cantona, Wayne Rooney and Roy Keane.
David Beckham and Paul Scholes have also secured their places. The public can vote for who they believe should be the next additions to the Hall of Fame via the Premier League website .
