SNOW maps show Brits facing weekend white out as an Arctic blast looks poised hit in matter of days. Projections from WXCharts show a huge band of adverse weather sweeping over the nation this weekend - across March 23 and 24. Wintry weather hits all four home nations in the early hours of Saturday, with as much as 2cm of snowfall per hour forecast in some parts of Northern

You will be lucky if you miss the showers completely but some areas will have a mostly fine day. It will feel colder though, with the air coming down from the Arctic. Scotland with a low centre edging to the North Sea and a cold N/NW flow. "Out of the wind, there will be a frost with snow for the Grampians." On Friday, any rain in the south clearing to leave a bright day with some showers. Often breezy, perhaps rather blustery within showers, and feeling cooler than of late, the Met Office says. The outlook for the weekend from the Met Office adds: "Feeling cold this weekend with sunny spells and blustery showers, these heavy and possibly wintry at times over hills. Showers fading through Sunday though becoming unsettled again on Monday."
