Sir Elton John has turned his back on long-term collaborator Gucci after the departure of its creative director Alessandro Michele. The Rocket Man was often seen wearing the brand, and even asked Alessandro to design the costumes for his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour. But sources say since Alessandro left Gucci in 2022 – and Sir Elton’s epic tour ended in July – the
Singer has moved away from the brand. Sir Elton and husband David Furnish delivered a big snub to Gucci at their annual
Oscars party last week by wearing Versace suits, with the brand label clearly visible on both of their jacket sleeves. Donatella Versace – chief creative officer of the rival Italian brand – was also a guest of honour at the bash. Speaking on the red carpet, David gushed: “We’re wearing Versace as Donatella makes beautiful clothes that make you feel good.” Hop away this Easter with staycations starting from just £6.20 per person, per night Sir Elton was devastated when Alessandro – who revolutionised Gucci by injecting colour and sparkle – left the brand amid rumours of an internal conflict. Sources told at the time how disagreements over its future direction had caused a rift between the designer and Gucci’s then CEO Marco Bizzarri, who made him creative director in 2015. Sir Elton said of Alessandro’s departure: “He is my dear friend and inspiration. Whatever he does next, I will be there for him because I love and adore him.” One source says: “Elton and David were very close to Alessandro and were shocked when he left. It’s no surprise their relationship with Gucci isn’t what it was.” Fearne Cotton fans 'need' new Nobody's Child denim jumpsuit that's 'gorgeous' for spring
Beyonce ’s country album Cowboy Carter, due out this month, isn’t just about
BREAKING boundaries. We can reveal the
music genre played a huge part in healing her marriage woes with husband
Jay-Z . And it was him who helped pick the album title, which uses the couple’s married name. A source says: “They listened to a lot of country music when they decided to rebuild their relationship. That’s why she chose country to express her pain. One song was inspired by her love of the late singer Selena, and another by the Destiny’s Child song Sweet Sixteen. “Reconnecting with the original members helped her remember her Southern roots, so she drew from it. Country music is also her son, Sir Carter’s, favourite.” Deep. Beyonce’s country album Cowboy Carter is due out this month ( Image: Beyonce.com)
Madonna isn't known for her timekeeping ( Image: Getty Images) Madonna is not known for being on time, but support act Bob The Drag
Queen has let slip that her lateness is often just for the hell of it. Bob’s pal Alaska reveals on her Race Chaser podcast: “I asked Bob, ‘So when does she go on?’ And Bob said, ‘She goes on whenever she wants to. She likes to make people wait’. She’s usually just hanging out backstage, is what I’ve heard. Like, ‘Make them wait a little longer’.” As fans who waited to see the superstar singer perform at the 02 last year, this does not fill us with joy. But on the other hand, “b***h, she’s Madonna”.
Amazon announces Spring Deal Days sale 2024 - here's what we know and the deals you can expect She’s one of the hardest grafters in showbiz. But now, after two decades in the spotlight, Nicole Scherzinger is taking a career break to focus on family – albeit briefly. The decision to prioritise her personal life with fiance Thom Evans comes during a career high for the former Pussycat Doll. This week, she picked up a prestigious Olivier Award nomination for Best
Actress for her outing as Norma Desmond in last year’s West End revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard. Yet rather than propel her on to the next project, Nic believes now is the perfect time to take a step back before she reprises the role in
New York this autumn. A source says: “Nicole’s more in-demand than ever after receiving rave reviews in Sunset Boulevard, but has decided to take her first ever career break to focus on family. “She’ll divide her downtime between LA and Portugal, where Thom’s parents live. She’s a very family-oriented person and wants to be close to his family for this next chapter.” Nicole’s career success has so far included being the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls, becoming a hit solo artist and being an X Factor judge – but she has previously expressed regret over sacrificing her personal life. At least a little downtime will allow the lovebirds to finally get cracking with wedding planning. Nicole Scherzinger is taking a career break to focus on family ( Image: Instagram)
Margot Robbie is Christopher Dean's dream Dancing on Ice contestant ( Image: Getty Images) This year’s Dancing on Ice final is only just behind us, but judge Christopher Dean is already looking forward to the next series. And yes, he does have a contestant in mind. Chris tells us: “My dream contestant would be Margot Robbie. She has skating experience. And who knows – if you write that, then maybe it will start a conversation.” We would love to see Margot take to the ice for ITV as much – if not more – than Chris would, so we’ll keep those fingers crossed. If it comes off, our bill will be in the post… ■Torvill & Dean: Our Last Dance
